Your two arguments: (1) the people at the townhall meetings are plants and thus nothing they say should be considered, and (2) b/c cash for clunkers was "popular" and was not a "mini-Katrina" it was therefore successful. Both of those arguments are non-sequitors. Cash for clunkers was a certified failure, period. It did not accomplish what it set out to, nor did it come close. Second, your public option clearly was unpopular, as it has since been abandoned, precisesly as Mara predicted.

I don't know Cenk. Bill Orielly cited a pole today saying that 65% of americans are against the public option.
He said a "something" poll I forget what organization he said the poll was from but when I heard him say that remembered you saying the exact opposite of that this poll must have been taking by the members of one family who happens to be republican and still 45% of them are in faor lol.
I don't know the point is that Bill Orielly just said it today on the talkin points memo. Sep. 29

Medicine was voodoo medicine at best back then (tobacco for asthma, pour boiling water over burns, amputate limbs with broken bones). What could the government do back then, pave roads for carts, maybe improve literacy and train an army. I could see the justification for not wanting high tax. Tax back then was mostly royalty improving their coffers so they can by exotic spices and whores, that and expanding their armies so they can further oppress the people they are taxing.

Hers is one solution, cut all subsidies to private health and finally let the free market finally kick into this industry. The conservatives should love this since they are so in love with the free market, liberals should too because those evil corporations don't deserve tax money.
Next use this money to cover people unable to get insurance or are too poor under Medicare and expand government health facilities, as the budget improves aim toward covering the entire population.
